INGRESS Corp Bhd sees high growth potential for
its venture in Indonesia as the country is likely
to become an export centre for international car-makers
in the near future, said vice-chairman Rameli Musa.
The
company, a manufacturer of automotive parts, began
its operations in Indonesia in March and Rameli
said the venture would only contribute just 2% to
its earnings this year.
However, Ingress hopes to see
its contribution increase substantially within the
next two to three years.
"We are also trying
to secure a deal with Isuzu to supply parts for
its operations in Indonesia," he told reporters
after the company's AGM in Bangi yesterday.
"We are hopeful that
Indonesia would be the centre for exports for most
automotive manufacturers and we see a high potential
for growth here."
The company's initial entry
into the Indonesian market was rewarded by contracts
to supply mouldings to Mitsubishi and sash to Suzuki.
On the prospects
in Indonesia this year, he said, total industry
volume for the automotive sector was expected to
reach 400,000 units, an increase of 12.7% from 354,789
in 2003. |
